Abstract: The use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) is fundamentally changing how forensic anthropologists analyze human skeletal remains. By taking over complex measurements and working alongside 3D imaging tools like CT scans, AI systems can estimate a person's biological profile faster and more objectively than traditional methods. This paper looks at how these technologies are currently being used to determine sex, age, height, and ancestry. While the data shows a clear boost in accuracy compared to manual techniques, bringing AI into the medicolegal world isn't without its hurdles. Issues like biased training data, the mysterious "black box" nature of deep learning, and the ethical treatment of digitized human remains raise serious questions about using these tools in court. Ultimately, AI should be seen as a powerful assistant to human experts, rather than a replacement, requiring a strong ethical framework to succeed.
