A worker experiences negative physiological and psychological reactions known as "work stress" when their abilities, resources, and needs are misaligned with the demands of their job. Reduced productivity, lower quality work, higher absenteeism, and turnover, and even burnout can result from employees experiencing high levels of job stress. The study focused on how various workplace stressors, such as high workload, tight deadlines, role ambiguity, long work hours, unrealistic expectations, and role conflict, on employee performance in organizational settings. This study employed quantitative research methods. A descriptive research design is employed to ascertain the correlations between workplace stressors and employee performance of IT professionals working in multinational and mid-sized IT companies in Hyderabad city. A convenient sampling technique will be used to ensure representation across different job levels, experience levels, and company types. Approximately 200 respondents were targeted for the survey. The research examined the impact of various job stressors—excessive workload, tight deadlines, role ambiguity, long hours, unrealistic expectations, and role conflict—on employee performance. The findings indicate that performance is significantly affected by all six factors, with role conflict being the primary predictor, followed closely by tight deadlines and high workload. The main conclusion is that inadequately managed workplace stressors lead to noticeable declines in performance; role conflict accounts for 45% of the variance in performance outcomes.

High workload, Tight deadlines, Role ambiguity, Long work hours, Unrealistic expectations, Role conflict.
