Abstract: This study employs a qualitative research design and critical textual analysis to examine the theme of cultural fusion in Deep Ghatak's Fish in Paneer Soup. The research design is chosen to gain depth knowledge of the theory of Fusion of Cultures and its reflection in the selected text. Postcolonial literature, particularly novels, frequently addresses profound societal issues, including cultural fusion, hybridity and the quest for identity. These themes reflect the complexities of individuals navigating multiple cultural influences in a globalized world. The primary objective of this study is to explore and critically analyze how Ghatak explores and interprets the theme of cultural fusion in his fiction. The study also highlights the theory of Fusion of Culture with its different features. By examining specific character development and cultural confluence, this research seeks to deepen our understanding of how cultural identity is constructed and represented in contemporary postcolonial literature. Utilizing the theoretical framework of cultural confluence, the main aim of this research is to examine how Ghatak intricately weaves together and synthesizes diverse cultural elements within his narrative and narrates identity.
