Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles from silver nitrate using Senna auriculata as a reducing agent has been elucidated with possible mechanism of reaction. Preliminary phytochemical screening of the flower extract revealed the presence of various bioactive compounds, including carbohydrates, glycoside, terpenoid, triterpenes, saponins, tannis, protein, alkaloid and phenols. The surface morphology, particle size distribution of the synthesized nanoparticle were analyzed using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
