Abstract: To harness the opportunities of 21st-century learning, educators must adapt to the evolving needs of learners in the digital age. This transformation requires a shift from traditional Education 1.0 models—characterized by teacher-centered instruction and rote memorization—to Education 4.0, which emphasizes personalized, technology-driven, and learner-centered approaches. In the context of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), this shift is particularly critical, as it fosters innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills essential for the modern workforce. Effective implementation of Education 4.0 demands comprehensive teacher training, flexible and adaptive curricula, and robust infrastructure that supports the integration of digital tools. This paper systematically examines innovative technologies used in teaching and learning, focusing on their application in STEM education. Technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) are transforming classrooms into interactive, immersive environments that promote active learning and real-world skill development. The role of the teacher is also evolving from a sole source of knowledge to a facilitator and guide in a collaborative learning process. This paradigm shift supports a more engaging and inclusive educational experience, particularly in STEM fields, where hands-on, experiential learning is crucial. The study concludes that education is steadily progressing toward a more dynamic and skill-oriented model. It recommends prioritizing the training of educators in the use of innovative technologies to enhance instructional delivery and better prepare students for the demands of the 21st century.
