The Gurukul education system, a cornerstone of ancient Indian learning, has long been admired for its holistic approach to education, which integrates intellectual, moral, and spiritual development. This research paper explores the relevance of Gurukul education in today's modern society, examining its principles, practices, and values in the context of contemporary educational challenges. Through a historical analysis, we review the key elements of the Gurukul system, including the emphasis on individualized learning, the teacher-student bond, and the integration of moral and ethical instruction. The paper compares the Gurukul model with modern schooling systems, highlighting both its strengths—such as the development of character, emotional intelligence, and a balanced life—and the challenges it faces in adapting to today's technological and fast-paced world. Furthermore, the research explores the potential benefits of reviving Gurukul-based elements in current educational frameworks, particularly in addressing issues like overcrowded classrooms, the need for moral education, and fostering well-rounded individuals. Finally, the paper discusses practical ways to incorporate the values of Gurukul education into modern curricula, advocating for a balanced approach that merges traditional wisdom with contemporary educational needs. Through this study, the paper underscores the timeless relevance of Gurukul education in shaping ethical, compassionate, and engaged citizens in the 21st century.
