In recent years, educational research has highlighted the strong interrelationship between psychological well-being and academic achievement. Students with sound mental health tend to display higher concentration, better classroom participation, improved memory, and stronger problem-solving skills. Conversely, emotional distress, anxiety, depression, stress, and behavioral issues often hinder learning and academic outcomes. This article explores the multidimensional impact of mental health on students’ academic performance by examining psychological, social, environmental, and educational factors. It discusses the symptoms, causes, barriers to support, and the long-term consequences of poor mental health. In addition, the article proposes effective strategies, interventions, and school-based policies that can promote emotional well-being and academic success among school students.
