EXPLORING THE IMPACT OF PLYOMETRIC TRAINING ON THE FLEXIBILITY AND THE BASIC SKILLS OF SEPAK TAKRAW ATHLETES

DOIs:10.2015/IJIRMF/202503013     |     Paper ID: IJIRMF202503013Abstract: Problem: The problem of this study was to explore the impact of plyometric training on the flexibility and the basic skills of Sepak takraw athletes, including sepak sila, passing, and kedeng smash. This study aimed to see the contribution of flexibility to the basic skills of playing sepak takraw.
Method: The study population was local sepak takraw clubs of Karnataka, which were 30 people consisting of only male athletes. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling technique, the number of samples in this study was 30 male sepak takraw athletes. Data collection techniques were carried out using: (1) Flexibility test with sit and reach test, (2) The basic skill test of playing sepak takraw consists of sepak sila, passing and smash kedeng.
Results: The results of the study found that plyometric training contributed to increase in the flexibility of Sepak takraw athletes, plyometric training contributed to increase in the basic skills test for playing sepak takraw of Sepak takraw athletes
Conclusion: Thus, it is recommended that coaches and athletes be able to pay attention to these two factors so that basic skills in playing sepak takraw can be improved.
